Publishing: Elephants and Tea

On September 16th, 2024 I had my first piece of work published in a magazine. Elephants and Tea is the worlds only young adult cancer magazine and is known for sharing stories of those living with cancer, from survivors, and from caregivers. My piece was titled A Specter of Myself and retells my struggle with cancer and how I navigated the unknown waters of suvivorship. Being a cancer survivor was not something I expected to be as challenging as it is, and this story reflects my feelings of anger and frustration at what seems to be an unspoken part of having cancer. The nonfiction story was shared on Elephants and Tea’s website, social media and in their email newsletter.
